rwjf.org Redesign

In 2021, I worked on a complete makeover of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Website. This included a new design system, a navigation overhaul, and a complete site rewrite.

While collaborating on the new design and site navigation, my major contribution was rewriting each page in every section (excluding articles). I met with stakeholders across the organization to revise copy for plain language, simplify and improve its scanability, and adapt it to the new site structure.

HOmepage and information architecture

The RWJF homepage, navigation and other global elements had to do a lot of different jobs. They had to meet the needs of two main kinds of users—administrators of organizations who apply for grants as well as donors to the foundation’s endowment. Grant-seekers want to learn about grant opportunities and details, while donors want to learn about how dollars are being spent and the progress the foundation is making toward its goals.

We achieved a site that helps each user quickly find the content they are looking for while prioritizing timely updates. The main CTA to Find a Grant is highlighted in the navigation design. The vision of the organization is front and center on the page. Articles are labeled by category and read time.

Based on our user research, we organized the funding opportunities page so users can search for grants alphabetically, based on program area, or by application deadline.
